This was actually my second time voting. i learned my lesson from the last time, absentee ballots are the way to go.
Four years ago i stood in line for several hours and it was just a very grueling process. I'm not trying to put down the volunteers, but i just wish there was a quicker way to get people through the line faster.
unfortunately, for the entire day of Nov. 4, i was at work closing up shop. however, as customers would come in, they would inform me of the percentages.
By the time i was off, and got to check my phone for the results on CNN.com, Obama was declared the next president of the US and when i got home and tuned in to CNN, Obama was in the middle of his acceptance speech.
i heard the last half of his speech, i believe more so than ever that with his speaking skills and know how, he can lead the country, get the economy straightened out and unite a contry that is ever changing.
i thought that the coverage of the electoral race was very repetitive and in turn became overkill. however, the overkill is replaced with an electoral race that broke the gender and race boundaries and made history.

I vote absentee too. Worked fine this time around, but not so well during the primary election, when my candidate dropped out right after I sent my ballot in.
I think it's cool that you found out Obama had won on your phone. (I'm not quite there yet...but I swear there's an iPhone in my future.)
BTW, capitalize "I" - remember, this is not texting.
